Eric Garling

Eric Garling serves as Senior Director, Applied AI at Stryker Corporation, where he leads the development and deployment of advanced artificial-intelligence capabilities in the musculoskeletal and orthopaedics space. His team translates data from surgical systems, imaging and biomechanical sensors into models and tools that support outcome-prediction, intra-operative decision support, and the evolution of a digitally-enabled care continuum.

With a background in biomechanical imaging, clinical trials and computational modelling, Eric brings deep scientific-rigour to his work, bridging engineering, clinical insight and business application. He is known for advocating that AI in medical devices must be embedded across the full patient pathway, not just in isolated tools.

Eric also holds numerous peer-reviewed publications in image-analysis and arthroplasty mechanics, and he continues to shape how “implant + data” platforms evolve into truly integrated patient-care ecosystems.
